Sportster seat fitment - part 52849-04A

I found a possible seat for my Sportster - it is HD part 52849-04A.
According to HD website this part number fits 2004 & up. According to the seller this part fits 2004-2006.

Does anyone know if this part was changed?
Does anyone know if Sportsters had a change in 2007 that would affect seat?
The seat is a few hundred miles away from me so I cannot just test fit so see.

I'd go with what the website says.. but if you question it that much, just look for a different seat. I'm guessing you found this on ebay?

Just remember, the size tank you have makes a differance, there are two seat sizes for sporties, 3.3 gal tank or (peanut tank) an 4.4 gal tank have different seat size. Make sure the seat came off bike with tank like yours.

thanks both
This is a friend of a friend of a friend kinda thing. I am trying to get my friend, who lives nearby, to bring his 2007 Sportster over and test the fit.
That would be best way, I think.

This seat is from a big tank bike. Mine is small tank. From what I can find out, the seat will fit fine but there will be a space between the seat nose and the tank (much like the space there is now on my bike)

Does not fit.
07 & up EFI models have the ECM under seat and this seat does not have clearance for the ECM.
Without having the seat in my hand to look at, I do not know if the seat pan could be modified or not. Seems like it could but ???

So... the search continues

Way I understand it is this -
Your bike does not have ECM under the seat so it should fit any seat 04-current. Mine has ECM so it needs a seat with space.

HD Sidekick seat
part number - 52849-04 is for 04-06
part number - 52849-04A is for 07 & up

This seat was 52849-04, not the A as I was originally told.
