You torque the bottom nut to 9-16 inch pounds, then 120 inch pounds (10 ft lbs) on the top nut, and then retorque the bottoms to 10 ft pounds.

Honestly....I make mine snug, wiggling the pipes as I get them in place, then tighten them a tad more to seat the pipe into the gaskets/doughnuts.

I lost a nut once. It always seems to be the bottom one.

After you run it tighten it all again to specs.
