dont know who exactly, but i did see a bike shop on tv, laying up a silicone membrane on spoked wheels, to run tubeless tires, hell theres probably a kit for it now.....it would make great sense.....but since we share the same wheels, i say paint, or powder....dun

i keep a patch/plug kit in my tool bag and a handy little hose that where you take out a spark plug screw the adapter in crank up the motor and it airs up the tire. it gets you home .

That sounds like fuel air mix is in the tire... is that right??? Sounds dangerous...

I have an old (89) blacked out sporty - but for the 'clown shoes' red wheels. I get mine back tomorrow, having them powder coated black.

The shop I took it to has done great engine work getting the bike running great, but I'm not convinced powder coating is their specialty. It's been a couple weeks now. He had suspected that the prior paint job was of the spray paint can variety - underestimating the work in getting the old stuff stripped.

Turns out the red was powder coated as well. He had to ship the wheels to a nearby town/shop better equipped to strip the old.

Long story short - I'm paying $175 (original quote, despite thier new found personal struggles). I have no idea what is reasonable frankly, but fit my budget ok. I'll repost a before/after when I get it back....

Wow... just went to the website and looked up the part... Very interesting... Does the engine run on only one cylinder during this?? and is that safe?

Back now, looks better. Um...it ended up being $250 for the set. He hit me up for the unexpected stripping dilemma. But he through in some labor, doing some clutch/carb tweaking though that I've been meaning to have done.
