Powder Coating Mag Rims...
I was wondering what the prices are for getting Rims powder coated?
I am tired of looking at the dark spots all over the rough areas of the aluminum mag rims, so I am thinking of getting the rims powder coated.
Has anyone done this, and what can i expect for a cost?

Id go with chrome spokes .. but, if you want to powercoat them you can get a kit from eastwood then get an old oven and do them yourself ( just dont use the oven you cook with ) it takes i think 400 degrees to cook the powder but, you`ll have to plug the axel holes and valve stem hole . if its just the dark and rough places in the wheel get a stiff brush and a few beers get the wheel off the ground and go at it . mine does the same thing i put her on the lift and go at it .

Hours...
I spent probably 2 hours yesterday, and the little black spots were flipping me the bird the whole time... I got the smooth areas nice and clean... but the rougher section on the spokes just laughed... does not even look like i touched them. Just makes the rims look not as good as they should...

None for me, thanks.
I spent my 5000 hours polishing spokes in my first motorcycle lifetime, 30 years ago.
10-Spoke mags will do me just fine, even if I have to paint 'em.

I got a blacked out bike, so I didn't have to polish shit anymore....lime deposits and toothbrushes still haunt my sleep.

I put stainless spokes in my front wheel when I got the hub and rim powdercoated.... No polishing needed.

Spokes look great! The problem is if you get a flat tire, there is no practical way to plug or patch it alongside the road. Harley needs to develop and sell some wheels with spokes that can take a tubeless tire.
