sportster chopper/bobber wiring
So im in the process of a pretty killer build. Hit a few speed bumps with finding a motor but all is well now. Just picked up an 81 sportster last saturday (complete, perfectly running bike). Just now came in from tearing it down, pulling all the electrical, needed cables, hoses and the motor itself. While doing so i started thinking about the whole electrical/ignition and lighting aspect of the bike....basically the important stuff. The thing im most hung up on is if i should modify the stock harness for what i need on the project bike im building or should i look for or purchase a harness that consist of only what i need. really all thats going to be needed on the new bike is the ignition, coil, starter, rectifier components, the head light, brake light and.......well thats about it. Im not planning on using any turn signals on the new bike. I guess what im gettin at is do any of u guys have a wiring diagram on hand that shows only whats needed (harness wise) for ignition, head light, and tail light? If so id love to check it out. If not then wheres a good place to look? If this entire post doesnt make any sense then please just dont respond. Im simply just looking for some assistance. Thanx for your time!
