Critique My Nightster Plan

I purchased a 2007 Nightster that needed TLC back in September. I did a bunch of maintenance; oil and filter change, tires, battery, voltage regulator, and a bath.

Performance wise I have ditched the stock exhaust for the Magnaflow Legacy setup.

Here is what I was thinking for my next rounds.

Progressive HD front springs and their HD 412 11.5" rear shocks. The Harley Davidson Bobber Style Intake and lastly the V&H FPK3.

I plan on some aesthetic stuff but that is more opinion.

Go with Progressive's monotube setup instead of springs.

Tell me why I would want these over the standard or HD front springs from Progressive.

I am still not sold on the HD setup over the standard. Was going to call Progressive.

Well, from their website,

Quote:
Progressive Suspensions state of the art Fork Cartridge Kit represents the peak of performance front end handling. The kit features a set of gas charged Monotube damper cartridges and a set of custom tuned fork springs

This is not just some marketing mumbo jumbo. I have these on my NighTrain, lowered 4" in front (2 by the monotubes, and 2 by shorter fork tubes).

Prior to the monotube and staunchion tube replacement, I was constantly bottoming out even on entering/exiting driveways.

After I did my monotube upgrade, I no longer bottom out, even on the occasional unexpected pothole.

Much more planted front end. Minimal dive on braking.

An evolutionary upgrade on front suspension, if not revolutionary.

Well going by the track record in your signature, I don't give this project a high completion percentage...

Touch

In my defense, the cars have been taken down to just the shells due to my OCD nature. I have a very specific idea for the bike and for the most part, the Nightster gets damn close.

I may not be that old but trust me, the Army made sure my body has high mileage.

Got rid of a Sport/Sport Touring bike because I couldn't take that position anymore plus I love the look of the Nightster.
