Gas cap removal

Still working on this 91 sporty, It has some aftermarket fat bob tank on it with two caps. left side will not come off I ordered new ones but how do I get the left one off without damanging anything else. I don't care if I damage the cap. I'm changing them because they leak real bad, I hope the new caps fix that.

turn it the opposite way

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

So it wont go clock wise or counter... what about a bfsocl....

Big f'n set of channel locks... squeeze the decorative cap to the actual part to see if it will come loose.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

Sorry it turns and it clicks after it goes so much, but it just spins when you try to take it off.

Try to pull the decorative part off, just grab with both hands if possible and yank. Then with the actual threaded part exposed you can try the c-loks.

Do I need new ones then or are the old reuseable, or are they shot?
