Regarding oil use: I haven't had to add any oil in 3500 miles. Is this normal on a Sportster? I run synthetic and have 10,000 miles on her.

Oh boy!!
You have opened a can o worms!!
Personally for air cooled engines I like 4000 for regular and 6500 or so for synthetic. Basically just under the socially acceptable 5000 regular and 7500 synthetic
My reasoning is that an air cooled engine runs at a lot of different temperatures due to weather riding style and traffic, so I figure the oil gets worn down a little faster from all that. Also, for me I use the high rpm ranges a lot and I don't know exactly how much that affects the oil so I like to change it a little earlier to be on the safe side. I do believe though, that 3000k mile oil changes are a thing of the past, but if it makes someone feel good I say go for it. There is nothing like having peace of mind.

The only way to know when to change your oil, is to have sample tested by a lab.
All these numbers people talk about are numbers they pulled out of their butt.
30K miles in 7 years, is very easy riding. Bike should last a good long time is you take care of it.

30,000 miles
my sportster xl1200c has 15,099 now. problems i've had, horn quit they replace it. nuts that holds front pipe on motor came off (both), replace with new gasket. when rear tire (7,000)was replaced they had to take front pipe off and said who put it back on didn't use lock tight.
tires (f&R)replace at 14,000, still had tread. it don't use oil at all.
use synthetic. been changed 4 times, 1st at 1,000.
46-52 mpg. man i love to ride my sportster, it turns heads(pretty loud. saved me 1 time from cager.(rived it up).
