My findings
I hate and I mean HATE to start an oil thread....but I am..
sorta
I changed the primary fluid at 6k or so miles and the engine oil at 2900 or so miles a few days ago. I changed them so I would have new fluid in for the winter. I rode it today finally without the threat of the storm and I was stunned!! It was like a whole new bike! It became so much quieter and shifts a ton better. It used to make a loud higher pitched sound at high revs and now it is now only the deep rumble it used to always have. I never really noticed the changes because they happened gradually.
I am not going to say what fluids I used because I don't want to start an oil type debate, but I am impressed at the difference. Very impressed..
So, if your bike is feeling a little down and rough throw some new fluids in and see what happens.

I wouldn't assume much difference in that service but who knows. The way I ride I bet that my engine had 4k miles worth of engine revs on it compared to a normal rider so I think that is part of it.

My 1k changed everything. I went from dyno to syth and it changed vib and sound for the better.
Of course, it may be in my head, but it sure seemed like it.

My favorite is still when DeeDay said he added sta-bil to his seafoam so it'd keep. He asked if seafoam was an appropriate additive to keep his sta-bil fresh.
I giggled about that twice during a movie tonight with my two boys. They thought I was laughing about Wreck it Ralph.
I was not.
