Just picked up......

....... my XL1200R Roadster.......

Just got back from 20 miles of various riding situations and love it.....

Ordered the HD shop manual...

It didn't come with an owner's manual.

Anything I should know/do right off before I get ahold of these?
Any other advice/suggestions?

Congrats. Be careful!!!! Fun sport but many butt heads out there on the road, look out for them.

thanks....

.....I can't believe it's finally here.....

It's the first EFI bike I've had so when I first sat on it I'm looking for the fuel valve to turn it from "off" to "on"

I just picked up my 2013 Dyna SG a few weeks ago. I felt the same way...Where is the reserve? No petcock. Just seems odd. Not sure about the Sportster, but at least my bike has a fuel gauge and milers till empty on the readout by the speedo.

fuel gauge

Yeah.....my "fuel empty" indicator seems to flicker "off/on" even thought I filled the tank.......

Guess I gotta go by the odometer reading.......
How many miles can I expect with a tank of gas with this thing?

my 1200 gets about 200 +/- on its 4.5 gallon tank...with some V&H shortshots and a screamin eagle filter...stock probably about 240-260

Sweet........

Took it out again today to pick up some library books for the kids. I feel like I did when I first got my license at 15. I'd come up with any excuse to take the car out.

"Ahhh Mom, looks like we need some milk."

I actually did the same thing today........with those library books.
Of course, I had to take the "15 mile even though it's only 3 miles down the road" trip to the library. I'll be doing a few more of those before winter sets in.

And to think that I was actually contemplating buy a Shadow........
