how about the converter? maybe the battery is not being charged up. seems like you keep draining the battery. (I have no mechanical abilities - please don't listen to me) 2012 Harley models had a problem with the converters. when they heated they stopped feeding the battery with power and you ended up draining your battery. they did a recall and replaced them all but I heard stories that resembles yours from folks around.

So the wire on the bottom there is the one that causes the gauges to jump.

Did you have your ignition switch in the "on" position? If you did not have the key in or turned to the on position, you've got a bad ignition switch....

key was in my pocket the whole time. thank you guys for all the help.


went ahead and cleared the diagnostic codes and replaced the voltage regulator, took her for a spin checked for new codes and had none. thank you again for all the help everyone.
