Road , the Natchez Trace Parkway is part of the US Park Service
it's a two lane highway from Natchez to Nashville , 50 mph speed limit enforced to the letter by federal troopers . there are lots of historical sites , roadside plaques and such , no semi trucks or commercial traffic allowed . do a search online and search the Under the Hill Saloon too , built in the 1830's a former hangout of Mark Twain and others on the Mississippi river bluff , three nice rooms to rent upstairs where the brothel was back in better days , it's worth the trip . i have never made the whole trip on the trace but have rode from Jackson , Ms to Natchez and recommend it highly, Natchez reminds me of a miniature New Orleans in some ways without the traffic hassles and much less harmless freaks such as I , good food , good times and the river.
