New to owning a HD - winter storage advice please!

A bit of a general shout out for advice !

I purchased a 48 late August and now is the time I need to store it for the winter in my garage and I really just wanted advice on what I should be doing to ensure the bike is kept in tip top condition!

I know I will need to get some fuel stabilizer and add it, run the engine for awhile then top the tank right up but it is really more things like tyres, battery and oil - not too sure what the best things to do are?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! (also I have very little mechanical knowledge or experience !!!!)

Just change the oil, before storing, get a battery tender to maintain the battery, inflate the tires, add your fuel stabilizer, and you are set to go. Seeing you live in England, you should have no problem riding every few weeks, and that's the best storage there is. ride it till the oil is good and warm, top off the take and wait for another warmish day, and ride again.

I agree with Bob. I live in Pennsylvania and store an 08 Softail Custom and a Sportster XL1200C for the winter season. The best advice I have is to change the oil, add fuel stabilizer, make sure the tires have the correct pressure and top off the fuel tanks to help prevent condensation. Both bikes are on battery tenders for the cold season..Where I live if mother nature is kind during the winter months and the roads are clear and mostly SALT FREE, I will squeeze in a quick ride, just enough to get the oil warm, then top the tanks off again when I put them back.

Regarding the tyre pressure should they just be what the recommended pressure should be or should I over inflate slightly?

Just the normal pressure, no reason to over-inflate, though that won't hurt if just a little, you'll top them up before riding again.
