shock replacement

I hope I can explain this right, I am lowering my bike ,front and rear, when I remove rear shocks, while up on jack, am I able to move rear wheel up, by hand, to catch and align bolts in new shorter shock. Still learning, once I catch on I will be able to give something back to the forum for all the advice I have taken. Thanks, Mailman

No, just ease the jack down a little till the bolts line up. As your jacking your bike up loosen your bolts and when you feel the shock loosen up. stop there and take them off. put your new shocks on the top stud and ease the bike down till you can slip your bolt into the bottom hole.

I don't see where it would hurt anything. when the tire hits the fender it cant go any further. let it down as slow as you can, if it goes past the spot to hook your new shocks up, jack it back up a little.

Do this.......jack the bike up till the rear wheel is JUST off the ground. Take off both rear shocks. Then, put on the new shocks, and simply lift the wheel up slightly, with a thin board under it.

It's not a requirement. Sometimes, I just come here for the "family" enviroment and to joke around......
