Chrome Fork Kit

Can anyone tell me what's involved in installing a Chrome Fork Kit on a RKC with ABS ? The dealer wants to charge me for about 4 or 5 hours labor. Are these just chrome pieces that fit over the existing front end or do they replace the front end with all new parts ???? I would appreciate as much detail as possible, thanks !!

Do you have a link to the parts or a part number for the kit? Is it HD, or aftermarket?

No...... it's not just "covers".

The HD kit # 46371 kit includes completely new lower fork legs that require removing the front fork units (upper and lowers) disassembling them, reinstalling the internals including dampers and springs, into the new chrome parts, and installing everything back together.

Top ten reasons NOT to put chrome kit on your Hog:

10.) 850 lbs is heavy enough....

9.) The glare.....the glare!!

8.) It makes the back of the bike seem dull.

7.) Prevents wheelies.

6.) No more 4-wheeling in the mud. May scratch chrome.

5.) Wife said "NO MORE MONEY IN THE BIKE!!"

4.) Saddlebags will get jealous.

3.) New chrome distracts other riders, causing road hazard.

2.) Atttracts too many women........too many.

And the number one reason NOT to get a chrome front end kit is:

1.) Putting up with stupid comments like "A++++" on EBay, after selling the old parts, to try to get back some of your money!!!"

Well I'm kinda thinkin you got a chrome laced rim on a RKC but if you dont thats gotta get chromed too or it''l look sicker than the back end of your bike(item 8 above) You'll be fashion taboo and not allowed in the Blue oyster bar.
