2009 dyna fork exploded view

Does anyone have a exploded view of the front fork assembly on 09 fxdc?

I had progressive springs installed, they have been installed wrong and i would like to see the exploded view of the fork to figure out what is wrong.

THanks

Did you try looking at the instructions for the springs?

instructions

Those are generic fork pictures. I would like to see the dyna ones in specific.

also my kit is just the firmer spring kit, not the lowering one.

The Dyna forks are no different then any other HD fork.

End cap, (on the stanchion) Preload spacer, spring, damper, topout spring, inside the lower leg.

The difference between a "lowered" spring and a firmer one is the total spring length, and the spring rate. And actually.....the preload spacer will deterimne final height. Your 3/4" is a matter of more preload.

If your bike is now lower after the install, (static height with no rider) you can probably add a longer preload spacer, (it's PVC tubing) and bring the front up to normal height again.

You can do that by simply removing the stanchion end caps and replacing the preload spacer that's right there, when you take the cap off. I'd suggest jacking the bike up, and get the front wheel off the ground as well, to take the static preload off the forks.

The cap is still under a tad bit of pressure, so get ready for that when it comes off.

Thumbs up to dave63

thank you for the information....

This is what i thought. I was familiar with the internals of my old 2003 dyna, but since the new 09 forks are larger i wanted to see if they were different.

The bike is going back to harley on thursday. Hopefully its that simple.

Also you told me about the oil on my forks about a month ago. The leak was getting worse, and it ended up being bad fork seals.

Thanks very much for the advice, this is a great forum
