883 Low Shock Advice

I dabbled with this question a little bit in the Sportster thread... thought I'd try this one too. Here it goes. I measured the stock shocks (eye to eye) on my 2009 883 Low and got 11 1/2 inches. I want to convert the bike to 2-up capability, but have a fairly tight budget to work with. Someone suggested Progressive 412s but they're a little pricy... someone else I talked to suggested a pair of used Dyna stock shocks. Anyway, does anyone think that If I just went with a pair of shocks just 1 inch taller (12 1/2) that it would do the trick? Or even better, anyone know where I might be able to find a pair of stock shocks off of a 883C or 1200C for a decent price? I definitely know that would work for 2-up riding since the 883C's & 1200C's are already capable & come with 2-up seats. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dyna stock shocks are 12.5" or 13". It's gonna raise the back like a cat in heat....

If you can find 11" used Progressives, you'd be good...... $269 for new. Then again, You get what you pay for. Mine worked great with my wife and I on it, (Dyna) and I'm not thin.....

That is true... you get what you pay for. I'm not too thin either. I'm about 209, but used to be closer to 250. Seems like there are alot of options out there. I think I will see if I could find some 11 or 11.5 progressives (used). I'll start with e-bay and cragslist. Thanks Dave.
