Vance and Hines changing baffles

I have a 09 Road King with Vance and Hines basic slip ons currently with 2.25 inch inner core baffles. If I remove and replace the baffle with a larger 2.5 inch baffle, do I have to re-map, get a new air cleaner or a fuel pack? I just want to see if the bigger baffles are that much louder and deeper.

Thanks,

Tom K.

Nothing w/ a slip on...nothings really changing...Slip on require nothing as far as I know...Pipes in general (full system) don't need breather or module/mapping until breather comes into play.

Are you saying that just going with slip-ons no need to have a ECM change (power commander, etc) and a dyno re-map? I read else where here (this forum) an opinion of "why" an exhaust change without making a change on the breather end. Makes sense to get better flow, but then the motor needs a ECM modifier and a re-map, yes?

You *should* remap with just pipes. If you have pipes and you're changing to larger baffles, (which can only be longer) then you're adding backpressure, creating more exhaust velocity and are actually going closer to stock, so a remap wouldn't be necessary, or at least critical.

I will reiterate...: If you ever saw the Dyno sheet for a bone stock bike, there's a lean spot at 3300-4500 rpms, and adding aftermarket pipes will only make this worse, SO.....remapping should be done with almost ANY mod on ANY bike, if not stock bikes off the showroom floor..............
