Hooker mufflers

Any body out there running Hooker tuned flow mufflers? I have not heard any except on U-tube and I do not trust the sound quality, but what I have heard interests me. I currently have V&H Basic slip ons on my 09 Road King and want a deeper slower sound. I have been to a few HD poker runs, but have not had any luck finding anyone who has them on their bike. I read on the Hooker website they are adjustable. What do they sound like, and what do the different settings accomplish? Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

Hookers

Well I am not sure where to begin...Been riding 50 years this year and had lots of bikes and even more different exhaust systems..I currently own an 09 Road Glide with Hooker slip ons, hypercharger air filter and the pc v perf commander...Get an average of around 45 47 mpg. I decided about 6 years ago that I liked the sound and performance of the Hookers over some of the others that I had in the past, such as, Rineharts,Vance and Hines,Cycle shack, Super trap, Bubs and a few others that I am sure I am forgetting...I even bought a new set of Rineharts for this 09 RG and ran them for about 5000 mile but I just wasn't satisfied with the sound so I went back to the Hookers and I just really prefer them over the others..The adjustable tuned header part is due to the fact that u can loosen the baffles and adjust them for max horse power or max torque or wherever u prefer to set them..The max hp setting is a bit louder than than the torque setting..On my 04 Road King I ran true duals and really prefer them but do not see a reason to change the headers on this 09 due to the 2 into 1 into 2 system so I just went with the slipons...The sound is not too loud until u start to get the rpm's up then they get rather agressive..Sounding sort of like a drag car with open headers..U can listen to all type bike exhaust sounds on u tube..Maybe a good idea as everyone has their own preference but I am willing to bet u would be very pleased with a set of hookers..Didn't mean to write a book here but hope this helps some....

Your experience riding motorcycles with all of those different exhausts goes a long way in my book. Much appreciate all of the input. I am willing, but do I have to get a new air filter and fuel pack? Inthewind56, do the Hookers sound deeper than the V&H? The V&H have really nice chrome, are the Hookers comparable? Thanks again for ther response.

I have been running hookers on my '04 Road King for 5+ yrs with 30k miles and they look like new...I ran them at first with the stock head pipes and then switched to true duals about 4yrs ago and I have received hundreds of compliment on the sound with both set up's. I ride with guy's that have rienharts, rush, vance & hines and they all love the hookers better
