Question No rear brake pressure

I just replaced the tire on my 98 FLHT, and compressed the piston (not fully) in the rear caliper to facilitate re-installation. When I did so, I did not open the cap. When I reinstalled everything, I had no rear brake hydraulic pressure. I vacuum bled the system, and still have no pressure at the pedal, I also tried to bleed by pumping up the cylinder to create pressure, but only get a small amount of fluid out of the bleeder. Did I damage the cylinder by reversing pressure? If so, does anyone have suggestions for properly repairing this issue? I am due to have the bike state safety inspected next week, and it will not pass with the rear brake inoperative.
Thanks in advance.

Ended up rebuilding the rear master cylinder with a kit from MoCo-had to buy "cylinder" as a replacement component.
