I recently installed Stage 1 SE filter, V&H fuel Pak and Monster Ovals, the sound is wonderful. I also think that there is much better throttle response and great mid range power.

two buddies just installed the monster ovals on their RC. One of them cut the baffles in half. Both side by side. total difference in sound. Cut baffles sound awesome. I have the standard ovals and am cutting mine this week

Monster Ovals are a great exhaust system. The Monsters are one of the few exhaust systems on the market that actually meet the classic criteria of making power without blowing your eardrums out.

It is possible that your local Harley dealer will have a map that he can download to your EFI that can handle these pipes with a Harley Stage 1 intake. Figure the cost of the pipes and installation, then usually around $150 for the remap, then another $150 for the Stage 1 intake, plus labor to install.

That will give you some inexpensive HP without getting to kinky with an add on fuel management system. If you are on the road and have a problem with it, any Harley dealer should have no problem working on it either.

It's not that I'm anti-fuel management module, it's just that I have seen a lot of guys turn a good running machine into a real dog if the FM is not adjusted correctly. If you go with a FM add-on, then your safest bet is to put it on a dyno and let the mechanic tune it correctly.

I have the V&H standard ovals as well. What are you doing exactly by cutting the baffles in half. Some said to pop the knock out in the center of the baffle. Looks like a steel disc just tack welded in, but I'm curious about what you mean ragarding cutting them in half. I tried the other day to pull one out - I think there are two screws that hold them in. I couldn't get the damn thing out at all. It was in there real tight.
