street glide switch

I need to adjust the bars on my 09 Street Glide. Can anybody tell me how the switch comes apart? I found a button on the bottom side of the switch that i can push in but no matter what position the switch is in it don't act like it is coming apart and really don't want to tear anything up.

Ok mason , you're new here and didn't try the search function ... but I'll tell ya anyway cause you could get yourself into some trouble with this .
You have to turn the lock to the acc. position and push up on that button you found while turning the key as far left ( counter clockwise ) as it will go . Now pull up on the lock and it will come out . Here's the trouble part , DO NOT disturb the switch itself , like reaching down in there with a screwdriver to try to turn off the ignition . You'll have to leave it in the acc. position till you're done adjusting the handlebars . If you move the internal switch you'll most likely have to buy the special tool that's required to realign the switch internals .
You can pull the maxi fuse if you want the ignition off while you're adjusting the bars .

Take me word You'll end up further ahead if you get the service Manual before attempting.
