Any gremlins?
Ok, my first post since my intro.
I'm looking to buy an Ultra Classic, hopefully sometime in the near future. My question is.....are there any gremlins to specific year models between 2002 and 2008 that I need to be on the lookout for? i.e. recalls, certain system problems to be aware of, things that, if they haven't already been repaired, will need to be done at some point....other than normal maintenance. I'll be looking more specifically at the 96ci motors and hopefully a 6 speed tranny.

2007 into 2008 96" crank bearing run-out issue. Avoid. Major repair. Then again, HD can check the VIN and see if anything's been repaired/fixed/ignored or not.

01's to ( I think) 03 had a recall on the circuit breaker failing. Moco changed the original 40 amp to a 50 amp. To me, it didn't solve the problem. The problem was heat weakening the breaker over time.( Yes, the 50 amp did break down on me). I relocated the breaker from just behind the real cylinder , in battery compartment, to inside the right side cover for other electronics. Cool and dry in there. If I were to do it again, I wouldn't cut the wires to the original breaker, I'd destroy that breaker and use it as a junction block or, just solder the eyelets together to extend the wires.
I understand the 08's had a fuel line plastic fitting recall.
I bought my 01, which is like showroom, for less than half of a new one. It's worked out well for me. There's some real good deals on used now.
