I really think you have to examine the 2 bikes in real life to see all the differences...

I went with the CVO Road Glide...if a normal Road Glide had to be brought up to the same level...it would cost another 10k...

All depends on what you want

My firend just traded in an 07 CVO Ultra classic for the 2010 CVO Ultra Classic. It had the good abs brakes, 6 speed, very nice paint, and a couple of extras added for 2010. He did a trade in so the payments were about the same.
If you can afford the CVO, it is a beautiful chomed out bike, not needing much, but my friend found about $3k worth of stuff he needed to add. You can almost buy two ultra classics for the price of a CVO, but isn't it that way with performance and super sports cars as well. If you want all the glitz and speed, you gota pay for that. Also, as you all know, the CVo's are limited bikes. You could not build that CVO for the price they charge. So, with all that stuff on it, it is worth the price.

Just my two cents. Love this forum.

I'd rather buy a base bike, mod it to my EXACT specs and ride that.

If you want an "off the showroom" floor custom, that's the reasoning behind the CVO models. Some guys dig that I guess.
The mechanic at our local independent shop said that one of his customers bought a CVO bike, I don't remember which model. First he dropped a wrench on the gas tank, scratching the paint. A few days later he dropped the bike at a stoplight, doing ever more damage. I guess that his insurance company is going to have it repaired. I just wonder how well that custom paint job can be touched up.

CVO Road Glide also looks better than the CVO Ultra IMO
