Wouldn't need it if taking the fairing off , just cut all the wires and wrap electric tape around 'em .

ok,here's what i had in mind.when i bought this bike, wasn't looking for a dresser.why did i buy it?price.so now i want to change it into what i was looking for in the 1st place.if you've seen jbones pic of his bike(gangsta apes),this is a start of where i want to go w/out the bags but don't want to ruin anything so i can't use the fairing again(electronics) in case it needs to become a bagger again forwhat ever reason.i hope this is all making sense.main question is,are all those wires i'm going to have to deal with, removable without cutting and reuseable with new gauges,ie-dif speedo, gas gauge,ect.w/ dif fuel tank.

Keep the ultra the way it is and buy the bike ur lookin for!!! Then u have 2 choices of bike to ride!!!! I wouldn't start ripping into the ultra, could cause more problems than anything else. IMHO

well but see blackdog, you're a bagger fan.me,not so much.i like ape hangers, extended front ends, drag pipes, fast and loud.i also don't like all that extra weight and a little top heavy.maybe because this is the first bagger i've had but i don't really need all that luggage space.again,i bought this bike because of price.to good to pass up.now i want to put my own touch to it.not much you can do to a dresser that i'm aware of.thats why i'm here asking.not looking for don't do it,already heard that,looking/hoping for here's some things you can do type suggestions.

Wires are going to be a problem. Also there is not a nice looking frame under all that Ultra stuff.
