New policy just issued for D407F front tires

Service Bulletin M-1258B, issued November 4, 2009 will now start to replace or adjust all the D407F front tires installed on early 2009 touring bikes. See dealer for details. Owners involved are supposed to be notified by mail sometime in their lifespan.

Interesting, my dealer just replaced my front tire, but with a new D407F, with no charge. Had 10k on the tire and it was cupped really bad.

Bike: 09 Road King.

Is it just the touring bikes? My 09 FXSTC has a D407F (21") this cupping pretty bad. It has 7500 miles on it. Sure would be nice to get that replaced on Harley.

Harley Davidson Service Bulletin on 09 tires

Here is the Service Bulletin on the Touring bike tire issue. From what I can tell this only covers the Touring bikes. I would print this Service Bulletin and carry it to your local dealer to see if one was issued for other models.

Good Luck

Dealer S#@ks

Harley Dealer refuses to replace my D407F because the TSB only covers D407F from touring bikes. My 21" D407F which is wearing poorly like the others is not covered MOCO won't cover it either. I bought two NEW bikes from this dealer in less then a year. They will be the last.

I took my bike to the dealer for service and to change out the D407F with a 408. Do I have to replace the back tire with the same tread and are similar issues reported with the 408''s?
