Thanks, cosmicdebris. Never riden a bike with apes but wish I had done the mod months ago...so much more comfortable than the stock that had me reaching forward and down. I really liked the firing mirrors and thought I would miss having them but I now realize my preference for handlebar mounted mirrors...no more looking down, just straight ahead. Go for it, you will NOT be disappointed but in all honesty, I probably could have gotten away with 14"s.

I too am tired of leaning forward and down ... hopefully can do the mod over this winter.

On a side note I did a little searching and looked up the Paul Yaffe Bars and really like them but I also found the Arlen Ness Modular Bagger Apes:

And may go with them instead.
