Best Seat on FLHX for 5'4" Woman

My wife just switched from a 2004 V-Rod to a 2006 Street Glide and I want to find her a seat that will make it easier for her to plant her feet on the ground. She sat on a FLHX at Sturgis last year that had a Mustang on it and that seemed to work pretty good. Any other suggestions for us? She would like to go with a solo seat.

Thanks tonnetje. I agree about the Corbins. I had one on an '03 RK. It took a little getting used to, but once I rode on it for a while I loved it. Yes...they are not cheap!

We have sevral Women in our Hog chapter that are vertically challenged. A few of them have had additional soles added to their riding boots to give them a flat footing or a littel more to be comfortable. I aksed one of them how much for new soles approx $55.00. Pretty Cheap fix if you ask me. Good Luck

Thanks Zeus. The biggest problem with the current seat is its width in the nose section. Its an HD Sundowner Touring seat, and quite frankly, I don't like it much either (I'm 5'10"). I ride a 2006 ultra with a stock seat that I had Mean City Cycles re-work for me. Its perfect now. He narrowed the nose a bit and added some memory foam. Maybe I should just have that done with my wife's new ride??

If the width is the problem then by all means have it reworked. I also know our member added 1 1/2" to heel on her riding boots and she is 100% more confident. There are 2 things you really need on the scoot. Comfy seat and correct handlebars for comfort. Worth every penny spent in my opinion. Good luck Let us know what you do.

Chris....what seat is that on your bike (btw....nice looking ride)? Looks kinda like a Mustang, but I don't recognize that backrest.

I took my stock ultra seat to a local auto upholstery shop and had them shave the foam out in the width at the nose and if I remember correct they charged like $35. Solved it for me.
