Take the dogbone cover off, and loosen the dogbone bolts, and move them to where you want them. I belive you also have to take the black colored key ring off and the 3 screws under it as well to get the dogbone cover off.

You should, yes. I don't have the book in front of me, so not sure to what spec.

Saw this so figured I'd add to what Dave said . The headlamp should be removed to get to the nacelle top rib fasteners . The rib covers a fastener that holds the front of the dogbone cover down .
Oops almost forgot , the side nacelle bolts where the windshied mounts need to be loosened so the cover can be slid forward far enough to get to the dogbone clamps .

I couldn't remember if that had to come off or not. The first time I did this, it was a biotch!! I found that using a cordless drill with a phillips bit worked nicely for the 8.5 million headlamp screws......

Ya I know . Harley finally got with it as the newer RKs have access holes in the cover to adjust the bars . I converted one for a guy to the newer cover so he could readjust his beach bars whenever he wanted .

Once you have the bar where you want it you should adjust your hand controls too. Just loosen the Torx fastners and rotate them to where they are comfortable. Easy to do and completes the job.
