I use the stock Bat Wing mounted receptacle to power the GPS with no issues whatsoever. I got an adapter at Walmart that is very low clearance and the plug misses the tank by 1/4" at full lock of the fork.

I found a power cord for my Cellphone that plugs in the fairing, then is hinged 90* and clears the tank.

It clears the tank, and the dent in the tank, right where the other plug didn't perform the "clearing task" so well.

I only use the cig lighter to light cigarettes - do know that it blew a fuse on the 010 Ultra Classic when I had the tire air pump plugged into it. My 2012 Ultra Ltd comes with one installed in the tour box

Ordered and will install a handlebar mounted Kuryakyn 92783 on the Road king.
May wire it to the aux switch.

I use it for GPS and my I-phone. Got a USB adapter for acc plug, it is short and just clears the plug hole itself, has a good inch on Clarence from tank. ImageUploadedByMO Free1353808390.419870.jpgImageUploadedByMO Free1353808431.937717.jpgImageUploadedByMO Free1353808517.991682.jpg

I use a charger that has a 90 angle as well. I use it when setting tunes and GPS from my phone at the same time through the AUX port.

Using the GPS and tunes together tends to drain the cell battery a bit, but when hooked into the lighter, it helps battery life for long hauls. I zip it all in my mesh and look wired.

Not the original question, but it is kind of cool to listen to tunes then have them quiet down and the girly GPS voice gives me directions then the tunes slowly come back up.
