I have been looking at this detach kit 58146-07. But it is the standard Hundred Dollars from Harley. Is there a cheaper version I am not seeing?

lower farings

I bought my 03 ultra last year and the factory lowers were removed sometime in it's life. I looked as well for the factory lowers but costs were just to much for me. I did buy the soft lowers as was suggested here and I really like them. Easy off and on. Yes they are not as nice as the factory lowers but the price and function can't be beat. Does a really good job in blocking the cold air from you lower legs. My wife even admitted she noticed a difference in temps. from the passenger seat so all is good. Also the soft lowers have pouches to put small items in.

Im this close.....>| |< to getting a set of lowers though I haven't yet decided on the vented or the non vented. I'm not sure but I think the non-vented may be a bit smaller and for "looks" that appeals to me. Recently I spoke to a guy who has the vented and he said the vents won't stay put. I also haven't pulled the trigger 'cuz I just don't care for the "tupperware" look of the pocket and/or speaker housing extending past the color matched ABS on either style. I (and others maybe) would like know if anyone had similar concerns and what they chose.
Somehow I see me customizing whatever set I choose. Personally I like no lowers at all, although I do have soft lowers for the colder weather but they aren't very aerodynamic.

my bad....I bought the quick release kit 4 years ago. It was 25 bucks a SIDE then. That of course cost me 50 bucks for both. Now they surely have gone up in price since then.

Congrats... you'll love them. I'll never have a touring bike without them now.

Regular price is $649.00. I also could have gotten them a lot cheaper on eBay but then I would have had to pay to get them painted. So for me $539.00 ain't a bad price.
