07 Road King Cruise control problem

My cruise control started working intermettently. It would just shut off and then you would have to reset it. Then it stop working all together.

I replaced the resume and set switch because I was getting low voltage at the Cruise control modual. That did not fix it. I now get good voltage at the Resume / Accel pin and the SET / Coast pin. The throttle rolloff switch is working OK. I get 12vdc to the cruise control module when I roll back the throttle. The brake signal works ok - only get 12vdc when breaks are on. Got a good ground on pin E. 12vdc on pin A when the Cruise control switch is on. 12VDC when the ignition is on at pin F.

I have 12vdc on the engine speed pin H from the ECM and 5 vdc on pin K from the ECM - not sure if that is right as it is a computer and I don't know what should be coming out of the ECM.

I have verified every pin several time.

So I replaced the Cruise control Module - nothing Changed.

I get the orange light on the speedometer and it never changes to green. I know the green light works because I can ground the pin J ( set Lamp) and the light turns green.

I can not do a cable lash initialization. I never get the green light.

Does anyone have any suggestions or can tell me if I am getting the right signal from the ECM.

I am at a lose.

When you read the pins out did you check them for security? You may have a loose pin on the male or female side that retracts just enough to cause you problems. Take a pair of needle nose and just wiggle each pin. The pin should not slide in and out.

Does the speedo work ??? Did you run the speedo diagnostics program ??? Does the ECM show any stored codes ???
The ECM sensor signals are 5 volts reference .
If the speedo is intermittent remove the speed sensor and clean the magnet . The cruise module needs to see a speed signal to function .

There is , it's read as "sp" . Press the button when "sp" comes up and it'll show speedo codes .

OOps,

When I ran the diags from the speedometer, I ran them for the P, S, SP and T. There were no codes shown as "NONE" came up each time.

Sorry, I thought that was what you meant by ECM codes.

So in answer - there were no speedo error codes.

Thanks

You know what , I've seen the cruise cable come off the stud on the side by the throttle linkage . Follow the cable down to where it attaches to the throttle linkage and make sure it's snapped in place tight .

Thanks but I already checked all of the linkage twice, including the connection where the cable connects to the cruise control module.
