One day I watched a YouTube video of fellow running wires through his apes. So I order a set of Paul Yaffe bars. Dam if I didn’t want to through the bars through the window. After a lot of lube and attention to detail I finished pulling all the wires. Went back and watched the video a few months later and he was only pulling 4 wires "bastard". The right side is a mother when you have to suck the TBW down the tube with the other 1000 wires. Plus the Yaffe bars have a sharp turn to overcome. I guess you can’t believe everything on the internet.

It can be a little pricey after you purchace

Wire extension kit
Arlen Ness Dampers
Brake Fluid
Dielectric Grease
Heat Shrink (Use ½” is sucks the wires closer together)
Heats shrink for the splices
Red thread lock for the damper bolts
Blue thread lock for the risers
New set of grips if needed
Solder
Primary Gasket
Clutch Release cover gasket

Hands in the wind isn't bad at all, cold weather will just require a better pair of gloves, not everybody has a fairing is the way I look at it.

As fate would have it, I wrecked the Street Glide last month. I'm a little banged up, vision crap. But, since they totalled out Ol Blue, I had to find me a new ride. I settled on a 2011 RG ultra....hands are a little better positioned (and VERY easy to change) So I'm a little closer to ridin nirvana

Nice looking bike. Now that you have had the apes on for a while, how do you like them? I have the 12" BAGGER MONKEY BARS on mine. Just got them installed. Have not gone on a long ride but so far so good. I like the 12" (I'm 6'2") but I think the 10" bars would have been fine also.
