Screaming Eagle Super Tuner Pro (Help)
Figured i'd check here first
Does anyone have the cable that connects to the bike that they'd be willing to lend out. preferably in my area (RI). but priority mail is fast enough these days. I'd cover the shipping of course.
The long of the short of it is:
I just changed pipes (Thunderheaders) and air cleaner (SE Heavybreather). I bought the whole pkg. from the dealer, along with the super tuner they recommended. well, they failed to inform me that the software/cables didn't come with the tuner. I managed to get the software from another dealer who had the disk in stock. but nobody locally has the cable. I find it kind of weird personally, but thats where im at.
I'd just like to be able to dump a map into the bike before I have it professionally tuned.
Does this make sense? This is something I can do myself, correct? I'm pretty computer savy and an electrician.
Figuring out what map to use may be a different story. But i guess I figure it out when I get to that point.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

If its anything like the original SE tuner, the cable gets married to the bike the first time it is used, and can't be used on any other bike after that.

This is what I'm talking about :
The module in the lower left corner gets married to the bike the first time it is used....
If he didn't get the cables, he didn't get the module.

Sorry guys
I Don't know why my notifications aren't working.
I purchased the tuner from a local dealer. At the time that I purchased it I was never informed that the tuner, software cd and cables are all sold separately. I've acquired the cd. There are two cables that you need for this tuner. One to connect the tuner to a pc, which is just an ordinary USB printer cable. The other is the serial cable which connects the tuner to the bike. This is the one I'm looking for.
I'm going to call the dealer this morning and see if I can get them to put a map in for me today. I know they charge $50 to do this, but maybe my only option.
Can anyone explain why am I not getting any email notifications? I checked in the user control panel and it looks like its on?

The cables used to be included with the tuner.
Then, HD figured out a way to make an extra buck and started selling the cables separate.
I remember when we tuned my 04, I had to buy the cables separate.
I think they went back to includijjng the cables on the new ones.
Edit: Try this,

Ok
So I ended up finding a dealer with the cable I needed yesterday. At least now I have all the pieces to the puzzle!
Still can't understand why HD wouldn't sell them all together? Guess that would just make too much sense.

Not EXACTLY on topic, but seems close enough: If my son and I split the cost of the tuner it can still only be used on one bike even if they are the same series of EFI?
