S&S v111 installed in my '97 Roadking

I too am confused at this point. Surely S&S sent back the same motor if nothing was found to be amiss in it. You say you still have the same issues/sounds and nobody can figure out what it is?

I'd like to see the primary drive parts. Was anything mis-aligned?

Sad to say overseas we have found the S&S warranty pretty poor. You must take the motor to the dealer that installed it. If they are gone then you have to ask the importer (presuming it was imported by a distributor) and ask them to look into it. Another dealer or importer won't touch it. If car dealers/manufacturers behaved like that there would be an uproar.

I'm back, as I said before, it was the Harley dealer. They screwed the whole job from the start.

I got my bike back this past Friday, 12-7, after they kept it almost a month after getting it back from S&S. It coughed, backfired and ran like a John Deere tractor. I got it home and looked on youtube on how to adjust the super e carb and adjusted it. I put on a set of Vance & Hines slash cut rounds and when I loosened the clamp the flange on the pipe connecting to the exhaust manifold almost fell off. the screws were loose.

By the way, S&S determined that when this dealership installed the engine they finger tightened the spark plugs, and that is why the engine was making the god awful scraping noises.

It was not S&S that was the cause, it was an incompetent dealership that I had done business with for 25 years.

Yes, they just sent the engine back to me, after adjusting the carb it runs real nice, but I'm working with S&S with possible leaks on the intake manifold or somewhere around the carb. This has been a nightmare. And Oh, by the way, they charged me $400 for the R&R that they caused.

There was nothing wrong with the engine in the first place, it was the idiots at the Harley Dealership. I'm a pretty good mechanic, but never thought anyone would not tighten the plugs up. Daum, they anylized the enging for 2 days before S&S decided to send a box and pick it up. It took them 3 weeks to remove the engine to send it back. S&S kept it 3 and 1/2 weeks, sent it back then Doug's took almost 4 weeks to install it. The I had to adjust the carb, they didn't know how to.

They've been pretty damn helpful to me.

I removed the evo80 back in the late summer and replaced it with the S&S v-111. Then the problems started. It was a comedy of errors from all sources, with the exception of S&S.

Good to hear the S & S is good. I have NO faith in the greedy HD dealers. The only thing I buy from them is a t-shirt.....and those are SERIOUSLY overpriced.
