Break in period for slip ons?

I was looking to get an Ultra Limited. I currently have Rush slip-ons on my Street Glide, but can't remember whether or not I waited until the break in period was over (1000 miles). Does it matter? Also, I know last time I changed the air filter and the Stage 1 kit. However, my brother just picked up a 2013 Limited and put slip ons on the bike without the Stage 1 kit. He's had no issues. Did he just get lucky or is it in general that you dont need the Stage 1 with slip ons unless you change the air cleaner? Thanks.

Mufflers: No "break in" needed.

Air cleaner: Suggest you at least get it through 500 miles.

No stage 1 reflash needed with slip ons only.

Hi guys, a have a couple of questions regarding exhaust. I have a 2007 Fatboy I'm trading in on 2013 streetglide.
On my Fatboy I changed the air filter to a k&n and put on vance and hines big shot duals. Initially I had a power commander, but I took it off after a bit and just ran them with the stock computer. (It ran better after)

Now, my question, if I change the air filter to the k&n again and go with the V&H oval slip ons, do I need to do anything with the computer?

Also, if I find the slip ons are not loud enough, can I add the headers to the slip ons? Ie are they compatible with each other?
thanks.

I don't believe you will need to change anything if you are just putting the K&N in the stock filter housing... Intake only classifies if you actually do away with the factory system, like a SE with a K&N filter...not just putting a different filter inside the stock housing....The stock system will only let so much air through, and that's it.

You will probably get rid of the stock header pipes and cat on the bike to help it run cooler and better once you've ridden in the heat of summer.

I have 4" slipons and screaming eagle ventilator ac. I am running just the stage 1 download. Eveything seems fine. Stage 1 download is setup to do slipons and ac change. Stage 1 is a basic setup. I was thinking of getting a set of fl vieds to add some more fuel though. Over the winter i plan on pulling the stock headpipe and installing a decatted stock headpipe.
