I was looking at buying a bad dad rear fender and extended bags and after painting a couple of sets for two of my friends and I was not impressed at all with the quality of the parts for the amount money they paid. I went ahead and bought a set of of extensions and rear fender kit off of Ebay for 274.99 shipped to my door and was every bit as happy with the quality of the set compared to the bad dad sets I painted. My only draw back is that I have ground the edges of my bags off and am going to angle the outer edges like the newer Arlen ness bags. That was not the sellers fault it was just the way I ride it and it isnt even lowered. All the sets of bags and bag extensions I have worked with are fiberglass and they might be a little heavier but at least they can be modified or repaired easy if ever needed. For thebig increase in price I did not see a bit of difference in quality.

There's a company on eBay selling a front fender kit. I have used it,on my 08 glide. You can bolt or weld it. I had mine welded since I was having bike painted. It's a very nice piece. You can lower fender about 2 inches.

Are you doing your own prep and paint or are you going to have a shop do it? I only live 45 minutes away from bad dad and have nothing against them at all but I had to sand and fill both sets from them due to the texture of the fiberglass and the quality of the gel coat. I did not go with them but my buddies were told that they were ready for paint when they picked them up themselves and they have never done any prep or paint to know any better so I was the unlucky one. On one fender the middle of the fender was offset about 1/2 of an inch to the right also when I looked at it from the back side. They did exchange it for a different one though with no questions asked. Fit wise they all need to be mocked up and mounted to your bike before you start to paint just incase you make a mistake . In the picture under my name you will notice my bike does not have extended bags. But in my profile page it does because it was laid down and since they were fiberglass I was able to repair them. If they were abs they would have been junk. That is just one reason I prefer fiberglass over abs. I would look around on ebay and ask the sellers questions . I will try to find the name of the place that I got mine from and pass it on to you.

I will be paying to have them prepped and painted.
I don't think I have ever bolted anything on to a bike or a car, from the aftermarlet community, without having to mess with it, unless it was Genuine Accessories from the manufacturer, so I wouldn't kid myself into thinking these were ready for paint.
I value your input tho, so far, you are the only one with hands on experience dealing with this stuff.

Instead of a front fender kit, have you thought about going with a 21" front wheel? If you're doing stretched bags that wheel will look sick up front. Just a thought, although I might be a little partial
