I would like to see someone make the lowered fender without riviets, seems like you could weld the mounting brackets in and get a totally smooth look...

That's exactly what I did to mine, originally stock 97 road king fender. Drilled out rivets, cut into fender to raise mounting Brkts filled all holes for trim , lights, etc also filled in holes for skirt in back, extended rear of fender 1/2" longer than original skirt, then added about 1 1/4" pie shaped piece to each side at bottom to make it look dimensionally right. I planned on making it a smooth fender for sure, no sense in the rivets if starting from scratch.

Interested in how the fender is gonna work out for you stangs. That's on my winter project list too but not sure what direction I want to go... so I'm subscribed.

A friend of mine bought some ABS bags. While they look like stock, they were very light compared to stock. I'm not putting cheap azz bags on my bike for sure.

Your complaint is that they were light? I would like a lighter bag actually, when we go out of town, we are loaded down pretty heavy. Was the quality crap? Your friend have issues?
dlracer, who's extended bags do you have, and any trouble in the corners?

Hey Stangs, my bags are tjd customs out of Utah, fiberglass and very heavy! I don't think they make glass bags anymore just abs. Have not had problem with them hitting but, I did move my floor boards out 1 1/4" so they tend to drag first. If you go with that fender let us know how you like it, kind of looks flat on top not more round like oe.
