It actually started as a joke with my son... it naturally wants to grow up on the outer ends so I went with it. Kids love it, the war dept. hates it. SO, it stays for now. 
BTW my buddy has the big beach bars on his 08 deluxe. Sweet look.
Back to OP.
I have Apes on my sporty and I love em.
I like the stock bars on my Ultra, but will keep an eye on this as I am open to change. Maybe they could be a bit higher.

In all seriousness, I dig the handlebar mustache - I'd like to have one like Sam Elliot. However, it's important for you to know that it's my self-imposed duty on this forum to poke a little fun at folks as much as I can. Humor and laughing at ourselves is good medicine! Haha! I'd love to hear the dialogue between you and your superiors about it!
