It will play through the aux connector with no issue.
If you want to be able to control the iPod through the radio, you need an interface module.
The HD module may need a download
The Iron Cross Audio module does not require one

I was told that this was plug and play, now you say it may need a download or Iron Cross Audio. are you saying that after spending $500 for this install, i need to personally add something else for it to work. this can't be. please explain further.
if this is true, then i'll just play through the aux'

FT, Tech is saying that you can run your iPod through the aux port. It will work fine.
If you want to skip songs/artists, using your radio controls, you may need an interface download.
You will be able to skip songs/artists using your iPod controls as is.
How "old" is the Ipod? Is it a hard drive or flash? If it's hard drive be careful of vibrations.

what's confusing me is your mentioning of the (interface download) does this come with the interface install that i'm having done.
I've used ipod before, in all my cycles and cars, but you guys seem to be saying that the harley interface module needs a reflash.
just bare with me here. I just figure if i have this installed on my bike, it's plug and play for my ipod.
It's a Flash drive.

Is it me or do the new members here seem to be coming off a bit brash? Maybe I'm just getting too damn old.
To anyone considering an iPod module:
The Harley-Davidson iPod module WILL play any music file that plays on your iPod.
The Harley-Davidson iPod module, as well as the Harman-Kardon Advanced Audio System, require occasional software updates. This is done by downloading a small file from the H-D website, burning it to a CD, then running the CD through the HK CD player. I've done it and it's not too complicated. If your unzip software doesn't handle it I recommend using any one of the plethora of free unzippers on the market. H-D's website is pretty explanatory in this respect.
As mentioned, iPods with spinning hard drives do not fare well in moving vehicles. Use one with a flash drive instead.
Once you have an iPod module and are able to manage the iPod through the factory controls you will ask yourself why you waited so long to get it.
I have an HDPD+ from On The Move Technologies. Does the same thing as the Harley unit for about half the price. I was one of the first guys to install it on a '12 EGUC and had alot of problems initially. Mark, Ian, and rest of the gang at OTMT worked with me diligently and I'm glad I waited it out.

No' not being brash, if i came over that way. I sorry. when someone states that you may need a interface download, after you've paid $500 for a interface install, you can see where i might be a little confused.

If the dealer installed the module the software should be up to date.
