War, and rumors of war - that's one of the signs, correct?

So the sales guy at the local dealer tells me that the shark nose will be gone from Harley's lineup in 2014. Both the FLTRX and FLTRU.

I ask him if this just means the re-designated model name and he tells me that the word is that it will re-appear as the first watercooled touring model, probably in 2015.

Again, right now just a rumor....

Bikes don't need to be water cooled...that's just one more part for us to have to spend money on to get service...it costs on average about what...$325-350 a service? At least around my area anyway...that price will just go up with a water cooled engine. I think its a terrible idea personally. As far as getting rid of the Road Glide...That's another mistake I think..that bike is an awesome ride. Just my .02

EPA mandates. Play the game or shut the doors. Take your pic.

Air cooled engines can not meet the newer EPA emission ratings due to fluctuation of temps. It's a tuning fact.

Modernize or Die.

Same reason Springer forks aren't on every bike, or a chain, or spoked wheels with tubes, or carbs.

Technology moves forward. You either move along with it, or become stagment, and fall behind. It't a financial move, not aimed at making airheads happy.....

there is no confirmation on the water cooled part, but he is correct about the reappearence of the shark in 2015.

meh, the vrod doesnt have the trq. or the fuel mileage to really make the crosscountry rider happy
