You'll need to modify the grab bars only if you are going to be using a back rest. If you use the tall boy and back rest you'll be using the farthest setting back for which the grab bar will not work with back rest bracket. I'll have to post the photos if I can find them. It's an easy modification with modest tools.

I used a Mustang on my 04 and liked it...but on the 2012 the stock seat seems to be ok....not so bad I would spend a lot of $$ to change it...but Iam only 5'11 and the OL only weights about a buck 40.. no problems here....

Again, the reason for the mod is that the brackets in the farthest position back do not match. I told this to HD and they pretty much said, oh, we did not know that....


Here are the photos of my ultra where I had to mod the brackets. I don't have a pic of the finished product but you'll get the jist. When it's all said and done after you make your cuts (if that your intent), you can take it any welder for about 25 bucks and have a sturdy bracket ready to ride.

I went to C&C and had one of the Sport Touring seats done in leather and a gel pad, its the second one I've bought from them and have been entirely happy with both of them, took app 500 miles to break them in to my seating position/azz print etc. (also with leather they dont heat up on a summer day like vinyl does and I don't get swamp azz.)
