rear shock question

I put 444s and monotubes on my bike ('12 FLHTK) back in November, and can only say that it is a different bike altogether.
I specifically went with HD springs since I ride with the wife quite a bit, and when solo I like the extra firmness. That extra stiffness is not for all, to be sure, but it works well for me.

The 944-4020UT is the HD which came out from Progressive well before the -4002 which has the lighter spring for lighter people/ loads. I don't run anywhere near full weight, probably nearly 200lbs less than max. I have the "HD" version (944-4020UT) and don't find them to be over sprung at all. I have not tested or even ridden a bike with the -4002 version yet.

Does the pre-load adjustment need to be changed when switching from 1 to 2 riders?

Pretty standard no matter what rear shocks you run.

Got my shocks and front fork springs in today, only took me 3hrs and thats including digging out the craftsman jack from behind all the boxes.... love them so far, got preset set and gonna take the wife for a srive and aee how she likes them.
