Purple clean and a fine brass bristle brush the best way I think but what do I know

Look in your wife's cabinet that has the cleaning stuff.
Look for Soft Scrub with bleach. She uses it for cleaning stains off sinks.

I use Comet first with a brush on the whole tire, then a SOS pad on the whitewall

I use the brillo pads on mine. Bleachy White will eat the finish on Aluminum.
