How noticeable: the stock 1250 vs the stock 1130 ?

Lil's 105th Anniversary 2008 V-Rod
Bore x Stroke (105.0 mm x 72.0 mm)
125 horsepower and 85 ft. lbs. @ 7000 rpm

My 2005
Bore x Stroke (100.0 mm x 72.0 mm)
115 horsepower and 74.0 ft. lbs. @ 7000 rpm

2007
Bore x Stroke (100.0 mm x 72.0 mm)
120 horsepower and 80 ft. lbs. @ 7000 rpm

Lil, or anybody who has had both bikes, 1250 cc. & 1130 cc.
how noticeable is the difference?

Have heard in stock form the '08 feels no different from the '07 because of more stringent emissions, but if removed and the bike is opened up, a slight more kick in the pants is possibly observable from the saddle. I've made 5HP mods before with bikes, and honestly, couldn't tell a diff... especially when the bike was already north of 100HP.

Curious what the source of the diff is between the '05 and '07. Thought the wide tire and other accomodation changes on the '07 robbed some of the power?

I test rode an 08 DX with the 1250 and really couldnt tell much of a difference from my 1130 as Steve said. Maybe Lil had another experience.

Have an 06d and an 08 anniversary edition. The 06 seems quicker to rev but the 08 is way torque ier. The 06 didn't stay stock long and dynos 115 rwhp as it sits. The 08 isn't stock either anymore. There is a deffinate advantage with the added cubes though the only thing I "felt" when they were stock was a difference in smothness. The 1250 is deffinately more choppy on acceleration, as if you can feel each cylinder hit. They done away with the compression releases on the 1250 and when you shut her off the 1250 comes to a quick halt. The 1130 is better in the twisties but I don't know if that is on account of the engine or that 240mm meat on the 1250. The 06 D has a problem keeping the 180mm hooked up (you can spin at will in any gear with a twist of the throttle), the 240 is more resistant to spin of course but she still smokes the first three gears. If you are going to the strip, I would reccomend the 1250 (can't beat added cubes for performance mods) and the 1130 with mid controls if you like to chase an occasional corner.

Took an o3 100th aniversary VRSCA and an 07 Nightrod Special. Both have stage 1 kits in and did an experiment running side by side just into 3rd gear. Both aplied roll on power at the same time but the 03 out ran the o7 like wildfire. We took our results to Metho Tom(RIP) from Blacktown Harley in Sydney Australia who did well with drag racing the Harleys. He explained that the wide 240 rear tire on the 07 was the cause of slower roll on power due to more weight. I am shure the 08 with the 1250 motor and wide tire will perform the same as the 1130 with the narrower tire.
