Murdered spokes,,,how to fix,,,,
They dude before me murdered the front spokes,,,, kinda leary of spraying them with brake fluid or some other paint remover, not sure why just feels wrong,,,,, got any ideas on how to clean them up,,,,thanks

Brake fluid won't hurt em. Theyre chrome plated steel, atleast they were before they got painted. If he removed the chrome, may as well buy a new set, ~$50.

I think he is afraid of ruining the paint not the spokes.

actually I'm thinking brake fluid working its way down into every spoke may loosen and later corrode them,,,,,and then what do I wash the BF off with?,,,,am I being silly ?

Not silly at all, grouser, but we don't know what you're trying to do so we don't know how to help. Are you trying to remove dirt? Rust? Paint? Remove the chrome??

just rattle can paint,,, he "murdered" (painted black) just the spokes on the wheel,,, not the rim. I want the paint off and the chrome left,,,,might just try to use OOOO steele wool ,,,,thanks and sorry for not being clear

Awesome. Kainam, are those chromed spokes coated?
If not, I'd say WD-40 and 00 steal wool. Might be strong enough if the murderer used cheesy enough paint. And, the petroleum based WD-40 won't hurt your spokes or their threads.
If that doesn't cut it, what's wrong with a dab of paintthinner on a scowering pad or steal wool? Not enough to drip, just enough to loosen the crap?
