Harley-Davidson shutting down Buell |
|
Oct 15, 2009 - 12:14 PM - by Hawg Dawg
|
Harley-Davidson is discontinuing the Buell product line of motorcycles and seeking buyers for the recently acquired MV Agusta.
The Motor Company announced the news in its third quarter 2009 report Oct. 15. Worldwide Harley-Davidson retail sales dropped 21.3% over the quarter compared to the same period in 2008.
"While the environment remains challenging for us, we are mildly encouraged by the moderation in the decline of dealer retail Harley-Davidson motorcycle sales," says Keith Wandell, chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc. "And moving... [Read More]

While we enjoy ripping on substandard motorcycles, crappy bikes are hard to find these days. Take a look at any of our comparison tests from the last couple of years and you'll find only marginal differences between our declared winners and their competitors.
With so much high-quality product to choose from, culling the field down into our Best Of winners was an arduous task. But that didn't stop us from coming up with our favorite stuff from the class of '09! Introducing the first-annual Motorcycle.com Best Of awards. And the MoBo goes to...

2010 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide Review |
|
Aug 07, 2009 - 11:17 AM - by Hawg Dawg
|
Despite a slumping market, The Motor Company introduced four new/revised models for 2010 this week.
Unveiled to the press in Denver, Colorado, we saw the return of the Wide Glide to the Dyna family and a slick update to the Softail Fat Boy, the Fat Boy Lo.
Also new is a tasty Road Glide Custom bagger and an even more luxurious tourer, the Electra Glide Ultra Limited. We'll discuss the latter two in an upcoming article, concentrating here on the new Dyna and Softail cruisers.
The Dyna series is the least expensive way to get into a Big... [Read More]

2010 Harley-Davidson CVO Model Line-Up Preview |
|
Aug 07, 2009 - 11:17 AM - by Hawg Dawg

Imagine the future. Now, imagine that the past has caught up to it and 'The Past' is covered head-to-toe in shining chrome amour and wearing the most decadent war paint. Sandwiched between a 1950 Panhead and a concept car from the SEMA show, you're standing in the middle, looking at a Harley-Davidson CVO motorcycle.
Now imagine that example of chrome and fantasy parked on the golfing greens of one the world's poshest resorts. You'd expect to find celebrities and dignitaries hob-nobbing with Willie G in a place like this, but instead you've got me and the 2010... [Read More]

MotoGP: 2009 Valencia Preview
If I'm one of the 18 or so racetracks on the planet that compete to host MotoGP races, I think I'd try NOT to get scheduled for the last week of the season. Nine years out of ten, it's not going to be decisive, memorable or even competitive.

2009 Triumph Sprint ST Review
Triumph's Sprint ST was last updated in '05. Yet tractable power, rock-solid handling, unmistakable exhaust note, long day ergos and British heritage still best characterize the ST. It's an old man of the s-t group, but the ST is still a player.

2010 Zero MX Review
Compared to the basic X model, the new Zero MX features a sturdier shock and fork, bigger tires on wider rims, and stronger hubs. Those changes make it about 10 pounds heavier and give it much-improved moto capability.

Paul Teutel Sr. Presents OCC Rocks
We recently came across a copy of OCC Rocks, a musical compilation put together by the folks at Orange County Choppers and featuring four songs from the OCC Band. The rest of CD is made up of familiar songs and artists, largely from the 1970s.
