will suction cups stick to flat paint?

im thinking about making a pillion pad for the wife. i like the ones that just suction cup down but i have fat black paint. do suction cups need to be on a glossy surface or will they stick to flat paint?

They don't care if it's flat or not. It just neede to be smooth. I think it would work but, I DON'T have a flat finish so, I'm kinda talk'n outta my a$$ on this one dude.

For clarity I added the parenthesis

The flat is the same clear... but with a flat additive... the surface finish is the same... keep in mind that you will wear spots (into the paint) under the suction

I must be assuming again

I would be more worried about damaging the paint.
