58 Panhead Accessorize Switch troubles

The other day I discovered my 58 Panhead doesn't like to run when I have ignition + accessory switched on. Runs perfectly with just the ignition switched on. Years ago I recall a conversation I had about this exact issue. For the life of me i cant remember the cause and resolution. It had to do with the older 58 electrical system and the modern batteries?

Anyone familiar with this issue? The best I can describe it is: With ignition + accessory switched on it acts like its low on fuel.

Garage
My old Shovelhead ignition switch has steel balls between wavy washer/springs. The balls are what make contact in the different positions, and they get corroded and won't make contact. Try rotating the switch many times, if if works, then take it off the console and do a good clean to the assembly.

I ride like an old guy that wants to get older.

Thanks guys, I'll give that a shot. I thought I was looking at a larger issue so this is a relief.
