I need to know the specific technical name of this wire terminal

So, I got a Baker DD6 and it has a different neutral switch with two prongs instead of one and my stock (1997 FXSTC) neutral had a single pin.

Well, this is the connector, and I need a similar type of connector, but smaller because these pins are smaller than the stock transmission.

The service manual is no help and neither is Google. It keeps wanting to pull up every kind of connector ever except anything that remotely looks like this... push on pin terminal?

I seriously doubt anyone here has terminals like this, probably have to order, but I can't order it if Google doesn't know what it is.

So I totally understand.
That is a terminal on the bike harness?
Or coming from the trans?

Contact Baker Drivetrain.

Either way, Touch base with Baker. They should be able to tell you exactly what is needed,

It comes from the harness and connects to the neutral switch on the tranny.

The HD part number is 9905... but the problem is, it's too big for the post, I need one that's smaller. Actually, I need two of them, one for one post to go to the harness and up to the dash light, and another to go to a ground somewhere.

This is the stock neutral switch vs the Baker one.

I tried to Google the Baker neutral hookup for 1997 and earlier, but couldn't find anything. In 1998, stock is a two pin thing like on the Baker.

See Baker contact link.
I also already asked Baker through the guy I had been emailing, "Jeff". He doesn't know.

All he knows is one post to ground and one to the connector, but the connector is too big and he doesn't know what kind.

He does not even know what the connector on the trans is called?
It would seem to me it would be called a "male something".
And the harness a "female something".

That he does not know it or can not find out is pretty F`ed up.

I think I am just going to go to Harley to get the connector for a 1998 and splice it in.

• Pre-1998 single post neutral switch connector pn 9905 (that's the whole number, and is too big for the post)
• 1998-later two post neutral switch connector pn 72405-98BK (for softails)

72405-98BK Google images comes up with a harness with rubber boot.
Makes sense for the application.
Does the current one have a boot and you just pulled it back?

No reason your idea should not work.
Solder and shrink tubing go a long way in making things work right.
